Speechcraft 04:26
I'm tired of defending you In your petty ways I'm tired of being disappointed by you When you'd said you'd changed Can't you just be Good for once Can't you just be Good for once I've tried all of my techniques But they never seem so work And rapid fire you spoke the lines That will make it all seem fine You paint a picture With your words But the truth is never What I heard You'd think I'd've learned by now It's happened so many times And rapid fire you spun the lies That would justify your crimes Your tongue of gold will be your downfall There's something to be said for saying nothing at all Because you're the loudest everyone's listening And all of your wrongs I'll end up forgiving One day you're the best friend that I’ve ever had The next you're some person that I've never met Talk so big that your words consume me And everyone thinks you're the perfect human And I haven't told you for way too long Avoided the subject ’til I wrote this song You don't know what this does to me I've put up walls I'll pick and choose what I believe To try and break the fall You paint a picture With your words But the truth is never What I heard You'd think I'd've learned by now It's happened so many times

Another War 03:13
It's not about me, it never was I said I'm sorry, ain't that enough? Didn't want to hurt you, I never would, Somewhere along got misunderstood I'm not a soldier, I never was But all this fighting's sure to make me one A test of willpower, where no one’s right We're at a standstill no end in sight And if I live to see another war I hope I'm fighting with you I'm not a hero, you're not a knight, And both our wrongs didn't make this right We both are human, we made mistakes, You're still the best one I'll ever make When we pick up the pieces of where we left And when the firing has ceased Know there wasn't a moment I loved you less And you'd never stop loving me

Whispers 03:22
You lie to me softly All of your secrets Changing my point of view I'll wait a year then see it appear See if what you said was true but I'm never giving up on you Even if they think I should A friendship’s worth holding onto Even if it's misunderstood The end was not that far away But we talk in whispers anyway Oh pardon the way that it all fell apart Hope you savor the day that you ripped out my heart Could've ignored it Walked out the door it'd Still be there and I knew Things wouldn't be the same And I'd be to blame ‘Cause I was the one who withdrew but I'm done hanging onto every word I've told you all I can I still trust you they'll think it's absurd But I know you more than them The end was not that far away But we talk in whispers anyway Oh pardon the way that it all fell apart Hope you savor the day that you ripped out my heart The end was not that far away But we talk in whispers anyway Oh pardon the way that it all fell apart Hope you savor the day that you ripped out my heart The end was not that far away But we talk in whispers anyway

Blind 05:01
It's the jolt awake when you've Crossed three lanes and you've Started over the line You're not sure how you Got this far but it Sent a shiver down your spine We missed all the signs Every curve was blind Will things go south this time? We forgot just how far we'd come As our eyelids shut And we dream Gently lulled by the Open road we had Resigned to stale complacency We missed all the signs Every curve was blind I'd die to change your mind sometimes When other people seem to fade away I hope you'll stay With me always Our lives won't ever go two separate ways It'd hurt me more Than I could explain It's the endless wait when you've Missed your train and you Know you'll never be on time Not quite sure how we Got this far but we'll Never stop ’til things are right We missed all the signs Every curve was blind But in the end we're fine

Take me back to that summer on Lago Maggiore And the village above the Piazza Grande And you can’t compare now To when you lived in the clouds Among the palms and the lemon trees And the cobblestone streets Take me back to explore Isole Borrome Stroll through gardens and watch the white peacock’s display We went up to the stars on the funicular Past the palms and the lemon trees And the cobblestone streets Take me back to a world between alpine and shore Narrow stairways that lead us from door to door There were snow covered mountains and red flower blossoms On the steps at our feet on the cobblestone streets I remember that golden, old church on the hill Lazy Sundays with plenty of time to kill Cable cars to Cardada or the bridge at Verzasca Either way I’d rather stay On that cobblestone street

Sunbeams 03:17
Has someone ever told you to "Just be yourself" Then turned back around and tried to make you someone else Moving our pieces like it was some kind of game We try so hard to be different but wind up the same Are we really all just scared Of judgement and being compared If you get everything perfect maybe someone will care ‘Cause we know all that really matters is your clothes and your hair Your worth Is not an outward thing It grows inside And bursts alive with every smile Like sunbeams Looking at the ground Rush past with a frown Who cares what's on the inside When you're setting all the trends A million people watching And a fortune to spend There is not a perfect size Perfect skin or perfect eyes We're all just fragile humans Far too eager to please Who forgot what really mattered When shaping our societies Your worth Is not an outward thing It grown inside And bursts alive With every smile Like sunbeams I can see it in your eyes The one place where no one dares look They tell your story, they cannot lie They say much more than any book Your worth Is not an outward thing It grown inside And bursts alive With every smile Like sunbeams

Blank stares on faces make you wonder if there's more If there's more to life, than this Randomly questioning the things you thought you knew Thought you knew about this life But this rivers now run dry This callused heart won't fix itself over night These vain attempts at finding life in what is dead ends in emptiness, and lies Your heart is aching and you're braking at the bones in your quest for it You’re an explorer of the blue Paces you never thought you'd see In your search for the truth Denied the one that set you free Love livin' like you're young I'll be waiting here to brush you off when you're done Found you've lived your life all wrong And nothing's left when you're gone There's a love for you that's written in stone

Your Light 03:32
Mark the blameless man And observe the upright For the future of that man is peace In the multitude of my Anxieties within me Your comfort delights my soul And Your presence is making me whole I can feel Your Spirit here with me And in my darkest hour I find peace Sense Your presence in the dead of night When every shadow gives way to Your Light Seek peace and pursue it For He satisfies the longing soul Fills the hungry soul with His goodness Many are the afflictions of a righteous man You deliver him out of them all And you lifted us out when we called I can feel Your Spirit here with me And in my darkest hour I find peace Sense Your presence in the dead of night When every shadow gives way to Your Light You've made a way for our escape We trust in Your unchanging grace Delighting in abundant peace We trust in You to calm the seas You're mightier than ocean waves You're all sufficient grace to save The ones who call upon Your name And walk according to Your ways I can feel Your Spirit here with me And in my darkest hour I find peace Sense Your presence in the dead of night When every shadow gives way to Your Light
